Why Hire an Experienced Window Treatment Installer?
Does not matter if window treatments are your bed and butter product or not. Having a seasoned installation professional is a must. It can make the difference between success and failure. You do what you do best, you design. We do what we do best, we install. Now that being said there is a lot more that we offer than just installation of your product.
We have extensive product knowledge of window treatments. This knowledge spans many different brands and product lines. Are Installers are trained through motor manufacturers and shade manufactures alike. With this knowledge we repair products on site. You don’t have to worry as much about us saying, well the shade doesn’t work order a new one.” Unless of course FedEx absolutely demolishes your shades during shipping. Unfortunately, as you know it can happen. When it comes to the mechanical parts and most minor issues, we can repair it onsite. At times you may order something too large for something you measured. We can cut down a limited product line on site. This saves you both time and money!
Measuring
Measuring is just one facet of our specialty. You tell us what you want installed we measure for that product. At “Just Call Ollie” we don’t believe you should measure till you have chosen a product. this is for multiple reasons. All of these again save you time and money as a designer.
Let’s just touch on efficiency first. Let’s say you are selling a job. We want you to actually sell the job first. We know you need to do a rough measure before quote. That should be done by the sales professional. This a rough measure not a lot of time is spent on this. no fractions just whole numbers many times a little larger that the opening. If you do this, you save money! you don’t lose out in any way! This allows you to quote, pitch a number and confirm a sale. This keeps you from paying measure fees on jobs that don’t sell!
Now let’s move on to the perfect fit. Alright you have your Product chosen. You have your preferred mounting location. the customer has chosen their desired operation type. Now it’s time to do a “Final Measure” or a “Detailed Measure”. This is where years of actually installing product really shines. Now that we know the product we can get that Perfect fit.
Different products have different quirks. Some products, if side by side, have to be measured at the same length. Sounds easy enough. What if I said depending on the product the length has to be the longest. At the same time other products have to be measured at the shortest. This is just the length. What about the width? You have probably seen a roller shade with gaps on both sides when mounted inside an opening. Some will say that’s just the size deduction from factory. What if I said it’s not always the case? I’d even go as far to says its avoidable 90 percent of the time. This all goes back to measuring a specific product. Inside mount shades typically are ordered at the smallest width. Roller shades are different. Most have a Fabric deduction of 3/8″-1/2″ on each side. So say the top of an opening is 24″ the bottom is 23&5/8. Do you have to order it a 23&5/8…. The headrail is the largest part of the shade. Play into that design quirk. order the shade at 24″ no gaps at the headrail now. the shade still clears the side of the opening. You get smaller light gaps as a result. Double Win.
This is just one instance of how you can benefit from hiring “Just Call Ollie” for measuring. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
